Steve is a member of the Disability Rights Montana management team and has responsibilities in the areas of quality assurance. He is also a member of the agency's Abuse and Neglect and Institutions Unit. This unit reviews and investigates allegations of abuse and neglect and significant rights violations in adult and children's facilities.
Steve enjoys the feeling of accomplishment following the successful resolution of difficult cases. Particularly those cases in which the resolution is that a person has been able to exercise their civil or human rights, and individuals or facilities have as a result acknowledged those rights for the person and for others in similar situations.
He has been with the agency since 1988. During the ten years prior to coming to Disability Rights Montana, he worked at the Minnesota Learning Center on the campus of the Brainerd State Hospital in Brainerd, Minnesota, and in Montana at a developmental disabilities day service provider agency and at a sheltered workshop.
When away from work, Steve enjoys floating and fishing on Montana's rivers and streams and getting in a little time for golfing and hunting.
Steve graduated from Saint Cloud State University in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Psychology.
