Jannis was employed by the Department of Public Health and Human Resources in the Developmental Disabilities Program as Program Support Bureau Chief from December 1999 until December 2014. Prior to her employment in state government she was the Marketing Director and Manager of the Capitol Hill Mall in Helena, Montana. Jannis moved to Helena in the summer of 1995 and worked as a Mental Health Youth Case Manager for Managing Resources Montana (MRM). Before relocating to Montana, Jannis lived in Los Angeles where she worked as a Special Education Teaching Assistant for the Los Angeles Unified School District while she completed her degree in Communications from Loyola Marymount University graduating Cum Laude in the top 5% of her class.
Jannis received a teacher created Video In the Classroom (VIC) award for a documentary she wrote, produced, directed, and filmed from the Los Angeles Unified School District for outstanding achievement in the video medium. While attending Loyola Marymount Jannis wrote, produced, and hosted on KXLU, a classical music radio program.
In the Fall of 2013 Jannis produced an album of her late son’s music which was distributed on the internet and is currently on internet radio where the songs are being played globally.
Prior to serving on the Board of Disability Rights Montana, Jannis served a term on the Helena Symphony Board of Directors.
