Christa is an advocacy specialist for the Core Services Unit who is originally from New Mexico where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology from New Mexico State University. Since graduating in 2009, Christa has worked in a variety of settings providing direct therapy, supports and services to children and adults who have disabilities. She believes that people with disabilities should have equal opportunities to participate in educational, recreational, social and leisure activities in their communities so that they may become as independent and self-fulfilled as possible. She enjoys participating in outreach and related activities to help raise awareness of the rights of individuals with disabilities and finds it rewarding to know she can enrich someone’s life by providing them with the right tools and resources they need to navigate the system of supports and services.
Christa enjoys practicing yoga, enjoying the outdoors and spending time with her family.
